HollaGlobe is dedicated to providing a safe, authentic, and respectful platform for international language learners and cultural penpals. We do not sell personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising networks or user-tracking pixels.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Credentials: Email address and salted password hashes (PBKDF2 with SHA-256) used strictly for authentication and account recovery.
• Public Language Profile: Display name, approximate age (18+), city, country, native and target languages, proficiency levels, exchange preferences, and optional bio.
• Direct Messages: Private language practice messages exchanged between members. Messages are transmitted securely and accessible only to participants in each conversation.
• Technical Diagnostics: Temporary rate-limiting keys and error logs strictly for security, spam prevention, and abuse detection.

3. How Your Information is Used

We use your information exclusively to connect you with language exchange partners, facilitate direct conversations, secure your account, and prevent unauthorized scraping or abusive conduct.

4. Data Retention & Permanent Deletion (GDPR)

You maintain full ownership of your data at all times. You can edit your profile details at any time from your Account Settings. If you choose to delete your account, you can do so instantly from the Account & Security tab on your profile. Deletion permanently removes your profile, credentials, session tokens, and conversation history from our database.

5. Safety, Moderation & Reporting

To protect members from harassment and fraudulent activity, our community provides 1-click account blocking and report submission tools. Reported content is reviewed by our moderation team in strict confidence.
